1st place yearling ewe and Champion Hampshire ewe in the 2009 NAILE Jr show. "Ellie" Poe 8259-08 owned and shown by Kelsey Verhaeghe. Ellie will be flushed in summer of 2010 to "Reload".

Ellie on the left was the heavy weight class winner in 4-H
commercial ewe show. A Josh Robertson ewe on the right, sired by
Poe 6218-06 Wave, was 4th in the same class.

2005 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL LIVESTOCK EXPOSITION

Poe Hamps exhibited four ewe lambs, two fitted and two sheared. Poe 5037 was the 1st sheared Jan ewe lamb. She was 2nd at both OH and IN State Fairs, where she was shown fitted.

Poe 5233-05 was our entry in the sheared Feb ewe lamb class, placing 2nd. She was also 2nd Feb lamb at OH State Fair.

5018-05 was our Jan fitted entry, placed 8th. She was also 3rd at OH. Honestly our sheep look best sheared, we are NOT the best fitters in the world!

In 2005 Poe Hamps re-entered the fitted arena. Poe 5257-05 was 2nd Feb lamb, at IN State Fair. She was paired with our 2nd Jan lamb for 1st place pair. See these ewes at Louisville.

While we prefer to show and sell sheared Hampshires, there is a need for correct, well balanced, fitted sheep.

Congratulations to Bill and Jody Fuller of South Dakota.
This ram was the 1st place fall lamb at 2005 Cornbelt Sale. He is sired by Poe  3195-03, a "Wake" son, sold at 2003 Mid West Sale. Poe Hampshires are proud to produce sheep that will work well in all segments of the sheep industry. Poe Hamps are sound, complete sheep, with adequate size and muscling to compete in the showring and in the pasture.
